A Big Thank You to Our Letter Carriers and Community Partners

We are so thankful to share that the Letter Carriers Food Drive on Saturday, May 9 was a wonderful success!

Seven local pantries participated at the Hartselle Post Office, where everyone worked together to help the letter carriers unload their trucks. After the food was collected, it was weighed and divided among the participating pantries. Feeding Families received approximately 900 pounds of food to help stock our pantry shelves and serve local families.

The letter carriers and postal workers were absolutely wonderful. They put in a long, hard day of work, but they did it with smiles, encouragement, and such kindness toward the work being done by local pantries. We are so grateful for their dedication and for everyone in the community who placed food by their mailboxes to support this effort.

Pantry Day and a Visit from I3 Cares

Just a couple of days later, we held our regular Food Pantry day on Monday, May 11. The number of families served was a little lower than usual, and we’ll be honest — our volunteers were a little relieved to have a lighter day!

We were also blessed to have representatives from I3 Cares come visit and see more of what Feeding Families does. I3 Cares previously supported us with a generous grant, and during their visit, they didn’t just observe — they jumped right in and helped with the work.

We are so grateful for community partners like I3 Cares who not only give generously, but also take the time to show up, lend a hand, and encourage our volunteers.

A special thank you to LaJoy and Jake from I3 Cares, along with our Feeding Families volunteers Mistie, Marlee Jones, Sandra Harmon, Bonnie, and Lela. We are thankful for every person who helps make this ministry possible.

From our letter carriers, postal workers, pantry partners, donors, volunteers, and community supporters — it truly takes many hands to serve our neighbors well. Thank you for being part of the work.
